Since 2014, we have been supporting the Ronald McDonald House in Homburg, which provides a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children. By offering a place to stay in immediate proximity to the clinic, the house ensures that parents and siblings can stay close to the little patients during difficult times, which significantly contributes to the healing process. Amapharm is proud to support this important institution and help keep families together when they need it most.

The Ronald McDonald House Homburg is a "temporary home" for families whose children are being treated at the Saarland University Medical Center. It offers them a protected sanctuary in immediate proximity to the clinic, featuring a communal kitchen, playrooms, and space for exchange and relief from the stressful daily routine of the hospital.

Amapharm has supported this important work for many years through continuous commitment, donations, and active participation in projects and campaigns. This provides a significant contribution toward securing the operation of the parents' house and standing by families even in emotionally and financially burdensome situations. Donations and corporate engagement are a central component in guaranteeing the long-term continued existence of the house and its services.

The collaboration between Wissensfabrik and Amapharm represents a shared goal of inspiring children and young people at an early age to embrace science, technology, and digital education, thereby opening up better opportunities for their future.

Wissensfabrik is a nationwide network of companies and educational institutions dedicated to bringing practical educational projects into schools and kindergartens, with a primary focus on programs such as IT2School and KiTec.

The IT2School program teaches students basic knowledge about computer science and digital systems in a playful and practical way, allowing children to learn how computers think, how data is processed, and how they can understand and apply basic programming themselves. Meanwhile, KiTec introduces primary school children to technical concepts by using simple materials to build their own models, explore mechanical principles, and develop an initial understanding of technology in everyday life.

Amapharm supports these educational initiatives as a committed partner because fostering curiosity and knowledge early on is a decisive key to individual development. This partnership enables these projects to be implemented practically in schools and further developed sustainably.

The Homburg Corporate Run and the Solo Charity Race for the Ronald McDonald House stand for active social commitment and genuine regional solidarity, having been a fixed part of Amapharm’s annual event schedule for a long time.

The Homburg Corporate Run has evolved over the years into a staple in the calendar of many local companies. Our involvement in the Solo Charity Race for the Ronald McDonald House in Homburg also holds special significance for us. Participation supports families with seriously ill children during challenging life situations and helps generate awareness and donations for this vital work.
